Interview With Ashley Moss - Poet and Author

Today’s special guest is Ashley Moss, a talented poet and author who focuses on topics of love and inspiration. I had the opportunity to meet Ashley through Instagram when I saw her beautiful posts about topics that stand out to me including God, love, and poetry. I went out and bought her poem collection book right away and am right in the midst of reading it. She is truly a remarkable, insightful, and beautiful young woman. It’s an honor to have her here today! Let’s begin!

Author Biography

Ashley Moss was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She is the middle child of three children born to her mother, and she dearly loves her family. Ashley's love of reading began when she learned to read at the age of four. From that point on, books and words were her friends. Her passion for writing developed when she wrote her very first poem at the age of twelve. Writing is her solace and comfort in life. Today, her love of reading and writing continues to uplift her in life.

Where were you born/grew up at?

I was born and raised in Memphis, Tn, and I still reside there today.

When did you first consider yourself as a writer?

I first considered myself a writer when I had an article published in the local newspaper in The Commercial Appeal.

Do you have a favorite movie?

Matilda is my favorite movie. It's based on the children's book written by Ronald Dahl.

Is there any writer whose brain you would love to pick for advice? Who would that be, and why?

I would love to have picked Emily Dickinson's brain for writing advice, because her writing style was so different from the writers of her time, and she and her work went widely unknown until her death. I would ask her what it was like to be a recluse, how it affected her writing, and what inspired her to write her poetry. I would ask her how to write as many poems as she did in her lifetime.

Pen, typewriter, or computer?

Pen and computer. I write my stories and poems out by hand first, then I type them on my computer and save them.

Drop everything and buy her poem book here!

Make sure to check out her website and follow her on social media as well!

Thank you so much for joining us today! God bless!
