Felix Jaynes is an undercover agent for the Real Life Immersion Program, a secret sister division to the FBI. Her life is unstable and often heartless (pretty grueling for a protagonist with a true heart of gold). Ashton Mathis is the young owner of a small-town grocery store that was inherited from his adoptive parents. His life is successfully simple. In the years following the death of his mom and dad, Ashton discovers a box of weapons blueprints in their attic, suggesting they weren't just an easygoing Vermont couple. After a brief and fruitless investigation, he denies and hides them away, hoping to detach himself from the situation completely. That's when Felix shows up, who has been tasked with hunting down the box from the attic. These two crossing paths will inspire a Mentos and Coke-like reaction, as the initial flickering hope of romance is rapidly extinguished, and Ashton's past comes exploding (literally) from a bottle of secrets.
